On January 31, Dong Thap University solemnly held the First Master’s Degree Awarding Ceremony of 2026 for students of Cohort 12 (2023–2025).
Attending the ceremony were representatives of the leadership and the Board of Rectors of higher education and college institutions, the Board of Rectors of Dong Thap University, along with managers and lecturers representing the university’s faculties, departments, and functional units. A total of 225 new master’s graduates received their degrees in this ceremony.
Speaking at the event, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Ho Van Thong – Rector of Dong Thap University – congratulated the new master’s graduates on completing their training program, affirming their serious learning spirit, perseverance, and aspiration for scientific research. He also expressed his hope that the graduates would continue to apply their knowledge and professional competencies in their work, pursue further study and research at higher levels, and contribute to the development of the education sector and society.
With more than 50 years of tradition in training teachers and educational managers, over 20 years of development as a multi-disciplinary university, 13 years of master’s training, and 6 years of doctoral training, Dong Thap University is one of the 14 key higher education institutions responsible for teacher training nationwide. The university currently has a growing team of highly qualified lecturers, including 1 Professor, 18 Associate Professors, and more than 40% holding doctoral degrees.
At present, the University offers 3 doctoral programs: Educational Management; Theoretical Chemistry and Physical Chemistry; Mathematics Teaching Theory & Methodology; along with 18 master’s degree programs/specializations, meeting the learning and professional development needs of managers, lecturers, teachers, and workers in the Mekong Delta region and southern provinces. The university’s postgraduate scale currently includes 67 doctoral candidates and more than 1,600 master’s students. Notably, in the 2024–2025 academic year, the University awarded degrees to 2 doctoral graduates in Educational Management.
Entering 2026, Dong Thap University identifies its strategic mission as training high-quality human resources across multiple disciplines and fields, with educational sciences and the training of managers and teachers serving as the core. This mission aims to meet the socio-economic development needs of the locality, the Mekong Delta region, and the entire country. The University continues to innovate its training programs, enhance teaching quality and scientific research, and accompany the sustainable development of the community and society.
