On January 30, the Vietnam Football Federation conducted a working session and survey on the women’s football movement at Dong Thap University, assessing the current situation, achievements, and development orientations for the coming period.

The delegation was led by Secretary General Nguyen Van Phu, accompanied by professional staff of the Vietnam Football Federation. The program was attended by representatives of local authorities, the Dong Thap Football Federation, the Board of Rectors of Dong Thap University, representatives of relevant local units, and coaches of women’s football clubs.

The working session focused on evaluating the performance and achievements of the women’s football movement in recent years, including participation in youth tournaments organized locally. Discussions also clarified the conditions for organizing and maintaining women’s football teams, aiming toward stable and sustainable development.

The Vietnam Football Federation has identified a development orientation for women’s football toward comprehensive growth and gradual professionalization, linking domestic competitions with club activities to improve the quality of the national team. Training for female coaches and referees, building brand value for women’s football tournaments, and strengthening communication efforts continue to be prioritized to promote the sport’s image and inspire young female players.

School‑based football for female students is considered an important foundation in the long‑term development strategy, contributing to expanding the movement and creating a future talent pool for Vietnamese women’s football.

The program acknowledged feedback and proposals from local authorities and relevant units, reaching a consensus on strengthening cooperation between the Vietnam Football Federation, the Dong Thap Football Federation, and Dong Thap University in implementing women’s football development activities suited to local conditions.
