On January 31, Dong Thap University solemnly held the Opening Ceremony for the master’s training programs of the December 2025 intake and the first intake of 2026.
The ceremony was attended by representatives of the leadership and Boards of Rectors from universities, colleges, and high schools; the Board of Rectors of Dong Thap University; along with staff, lecturers, and 437 newly admitted graduate students enrolled in the University’s postgraduate programs.
Speaking at the ceremony, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Ho Van Thong extended congratulations to the new graduate students who had successfully passed the admission process and officially embarked on a new academic journey. He also expressed his hope that the students would maintain a serious learning attitude, actively engage in research, and continuously strive for improvement, thereby contributing to enhancing training quality and scientific research activities, as well as affirming the prestige and position of Dong Thap University.
With more than 50 years of establishment and development, and over 20 years of undergraduate and postgraduate training, Dong Thap University is currently one of 14 key higher education institutions responsible for teacher training nationwide. The University has gradually affirmed its position as a reputable center for training, research, and innovation. From this institution, more than 80,000 bachelors, engineers, master’s graduates, and doctoral candidates have been trained, contributing high‑quality human resources to the education sector and various fields of society.
At present, the University’s postgraduate training scale includes 67 doctoral candidates in Educational Management; Mathematics Teaching Theory & Methodology; and Theoretical Chemistry and Physical Chemistry, along with more than 1,600 master’s students enrolled in 18 master’s programs and specializations. In the 2024–2025 academic year, the University awarded degrees to 2 doctoral graduates in Educational Management, further affirming its credibility and quality in postgraduate education.
In its development orientation for the coming period, Dong Thap University continues to expand its training scale, innovate curricula and teaching methods, and promote digital transformation in management and training, aiming to build a modern, flexible, and creative learning environment. For postgraduate education, the University consistently enhances program quality to meet the learning and research needs of staff, lecturers, teachers, and learners in the Mekong Delta region and southern provinces.
At the opening ceremony, Dong Thap University warmly welcomed 437 newly admitted graduate students across various disciplines, marking the beginning of a new journey of study and research. The University’s leadership expressed confidence that, with a strong academic foundation, a serious learning environment, and personal effort, the students will develop their capabilities and make meaningful contributions to the education sector and society in the future.
