On November 25, Dong Thap University held the opening ceremony of the Pickleball Coaches and Referees Training Course 2025, with the participation of more than 60 trainees. The course is designed to provide a professional training environment, helping trainees access foundational knowledge, gradually improve their skills, and equip themselves with the necessary competencies for the roles of Pickleball coach and referee.
Attending the program from professional organizations were Mr. Truong Quang Vu – Professional Pickleball Registry (PPR) Coach, Director of the Young Talent Development Program of the Asian Pickleball Federation; Ms. Tran Thanh Hoang Ngan – Head of Pickleball Development Committee, Ho Chi Minh City Tennis & Pickleball Federation. From Dong Thap University, there was Mr. Cao Dao Thep – Vice Rector, along with leaders of faculties, departments, and offices.
In his speech at the opening ceremony, Mr. Cao Dao Thep emphasized that in the context of integration, school sports not only improve health but also foster discipline, teamwork, and compliance with competition rules. With its safety, accessibility, and suitability for all ages, Pickleball is increasingly being promoted by advanced educational institutions. He highly appreciated the trainees’ progressive spirit and acknowledged the thorough preparation of the coordinating units, contributing to the quality and effectiveness of the course.
The training takes place over two days, November 25–26, combining theoretical study with practical training on the court. Trainees are equipped with knowledge of Pickleball, competition rules, teaching methods, communication skills, and essential requirements for coaches and referees. Practical activities help trainees practice handling situations, managing matches, and enhancing professional demeanor.
At the end of the course, trainees will be assessed and awarded certificates of completion. The program contributes to promoting the Pickleball movement in Dong Thap, while affirming the university’s efforts to bring modern sports trends into the educational environment, aiming to train students to develop comprehensively in knowledge, skills, and character.Photos of the ceremony:
