In the warm atmosphere of November dedicated to honoring teachers, Dong Thap University solemnly held the ceremony marking the 43rd Anniversary of Vietnamese Teachers’ Day (November 20, 1982 – November 20, 2025). On this occasion, the university announced remarkable achievements in educational quality accreditation, congratulated faculty members recognized with the academic titles of Professor and Associate Professor in 2025, and inaugurated Gate A – a landmark reflecting more than 20 years of development and integration, symbolizing the university’s vision and aspirations.

The ceremony was attended by members of the State Professorship Council, representatives of the Center for Education Accreditation, Viet Nam National University Ha Noi, provincial leaders and former leaders of Dong Thap, representatives of government agencies, organizations, enterprises, education experts, media agencies, as well as a large number of staff, lecturers, and students.

As one of 14 key national higher education institutions for teacher training, Dong Thap University continues to play an important role in developing human resources in pedagogy. Alongside its traditional strengths in educational sciences and teacher training, non-pedagogical programs are also expanding to meet the workforce needs of society. The university currently has 536 highly qualified lecturers, including 319 with master’s degrees and 217 with doctoral degrees (among them 1 Professor and 22 Associate Professors), serving more than 21,500 learners, including nearly 2,000 graduate students and doctoral candidates, as well as thousands of trainees enrolled in monthly professional development courses.

In the past academic year, the university recorded notable results: 06 training programs continued to meet accreditation standards, raising the proportion of accredited programs to 94.4%; 02 programs achieved 5-star application-oriented standards under the UPM framework, bringing the total number of UPM-recognized programs to 04, of which 03 are at the 5-star level.

Significantly, 2025 marked the first time a university staff member was recognized with the title of Professor, and another with the title of Associate Professor. This milestone affirms the university’s long-term direction in building a strong intellectual workforce and enhancing the quality of scientific and teaching personnel.

On this occasion, the Ministry of Education and Training commended one collective and one individual from the university for outstanding contributions to the education sector’s emulation movement for the 2025–2030 period. Notably, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Ho Van Thong, Dong Thap University Rector was selected as a delegate to attend the upcoming National Emulation Congress in December.

Speaking at the ceremony, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Ho Van Thong stated: “Dong Thap University remains steadfast in its mission to improve education quality, train intellectual human resources, and continuously innovate for international integration. Today’s achievements are a source of pride for individuals, families, and the university community. We believe that our Professors, Associate Professors, Doctors, and scientists will continue to innovate, publish scientific achievements internationally, and stay connected with the community in service of society. The university will continue to develop sustainably and act as a ‘navigator’ on the path of educational reform.”

Scientific activities at the university also made strong progress, with international publications increasing by 20% compared to the previous academic year. Numerous ministerial and national-level research projects were effectively implemented. International cooperation expanded to 22 partners, with academic exchange programs, student mobility, and expert networking. Digital transformation was further promoted through the “Smart School – Smart Governance” model. Meanwhile, enrollment at all three levels – graduate, undergraduate, and master’s – remained stable, earning high trust from learners and parents.

Gate A – the new symbol of more than 20 years of development – was inaugurated during the ceremony. The project not only enhances the university’s facilities but also embodies its aspiration for innovation, integration, and sustainable development.

The 43rd Anniversary of Vietnamese Teachers’ Day at Dong Thap University was an occasion to reflect on the university’s development journey, recognize achievements, and inspire the aspiration to continue innovating and improving education quality. It was also a time to honor the humanistic values of teaching – a noble profession that continues to illuminate the future for generations of students.
