On February 27, Dong Thap University organized a delegation to visit and extend congratulations to Healthcare Agencies and Units across the province on the occasion of the 71st Anniversary of Vietnamese Doctors’ Day (February 27, 1955 – February 27, 2026).
On this occasion, the delegation visited and conveyed congratulations to local healthcare facilities; at the same time, they met with, encouraged, and expressed gratitude to the medical staff working at the University.
February 27 each year is Vietnamese Doctors’ Day—a special occasion to honor and recognize the significant contributions of medical officers, doctors, and healthcare workers to the mission of protecting and improving public health.
In its development orientation for the new phase, Dong Thap University places emphasis on expanding cooperation with healthcare institutions, strengthening the connection between training, research, and practical community healthcare. These visits and congratulatory activities help reinforce collaborative relationships between the University and healthcare units, creating a foundation for future professional cooperation programs aimed at developing high-quality human resources to serve society.
The origin of Vietnamese Doctors’ Day dates back to February 27, 1955, when President Ho Chi Minh sent a letter to the National Conference of Health Workers with the teaching: “A good physician must be like a gentle mother.” This message has since become a guiding principle and ethical standard for generations of Vietnamese medical professionals throughout the development of the national healthcare sector.
On the occasion of the 71st Anniversary of Vietnamese Doctors’ Day, Dong Thap University extends its warmest congratulations to physicians, doctors, pharmacists, nurses, and all healthcare personnel. The University wishes all medical professionals good health, strong expertise, noble medical ethics, and continued excellence in fulfilling their entrusted duties.
