On June 22, Dong Thap University, in collaboration with Academy of Politics Region IV, Can Tho University, and Vinh Long University of Technology Education, organized the seminar “Mekong Delta Students and the Mission of Protecting the Party’s Ideological Foundation in the Context of Digital Transformation” and the Award Ceremony of the Sixth Political Essay Contest on Protecting the Party’s Ideological Foundation, 2026.
In 2026, Dong Thap University was honored to be selected as the host institution for the summary and award activities of the contest. This meaningful event aimed to review the results of the collaborative organization of the contest while recognizing the contributions of staff, lecturers, trainees, and students in the mission of protecting the Party’s ideological foundation.
Within the framework of the program, the seminar themed “Mekong Delta Students and the Mission of Protecting the Party’s Ideological Foundation in the Context of Digital Transformation” attracted the participation of leaders from coordinating units, lecturers, and students. Delegates focused on discussing the role of students amid the impacts of social media, artificial intelligence, fake news, and new communication platforms; and proposed various solutions to enhance skills in identifying and filtering information, using social media responsibly, and spreading positive information in cyberspace.
According to the summary report, the 2026 contest received 872 submissions, including 856 works in the categories of magazines, printed newspapers, and online newspapers, and 16 works in radio, television, and video clips. Based on the preliminary selection results, the Organizing Committee selected 80 outstanding works to be submitted to the Political Essay Contest on Protecting the Party’s Ideological Foundation at the Ho Chi Minh National Academy of Politics.
Many works were carefully invested in both content and presentation, closely following current issues and contributing to communication efforts to protect the Party’s ideological foundation and counter wrongful and hostile viewpoints. Notably, this year’s contest saw the emergence of numerous digital media products created using modern methods such as video clips, podcasts, and digital technology applications, contributing to enhancing communication effectiveness and bringing the message of protecting the Party’s ideological foundation closer to students and young audiences.
At the award ceremony, the Organizing Committee awarded 45 prizes to outstanding works, including 07 First Prizes, 11 Second Prizes, 11 Third Prizes, and 16 Consolation Prizes. Among them were 30 works from the staff and lecturer, and 15 works from the student. The winning works were highly evaluated for their theoretical value, practical relevance, and ability to spread positive information within the community.
Through the contest and seminar, staff, lecturers, trainees, and students from participating units had the opportunity to exchange and share experiences, enhance awareness, and strengthen skills in protecting the Party’s ideological foundation in cyberspace. The activities contributed to promoting the role of the younger generation in disseminating official information and building a safe, healthy educational environment that meets the demands of the digital transformation era.
