On August 22, Dong Thap University held the Opening Ceremony for the second intake of its master’s programs in 2026, welcoming 740 new master’s students as they officially began their journey of study, research, and professional development at the University.

In the context of increasingly high demands for human resource quality, postgraduate education plays an important role in advancing learners’ professional expertise, research capacity, and scientific thinking. It is also one of the key priorities in Dong Thap University’s development strategy.

With the mission of developing highly qualified human resources across multiple fields, with educational sciences and teacher education at its core; conducting scientific research and providing community services; and contributing to the socio-economic development of the Mekong Delta region and Vietnam, the University places strong emphasis on developing postgraduate education in connection with scientific research and knowledge advancement, while fostering a pool of experts, managers, and educators with the professional competence needed to meet the growing demands of society.

With more than 50 years of experience in training and professional development for teachers and educational managers, Dong Thap University has developed into a multidisciplinary university, integrating education with scientific research and community service. Alongside undergraduate education, its postgraduate programs continue to expand opportunities for advanced study and respond to human resource development needs at the local, regional, and national levels.

Speaking at the Opening Ceremony, Dr. Truong Tan Dat, Rector of Dong Thap University, congratulated the 740 new students on officially becoming master’s students at the University and expressed his appreciation for their trust in choosing Dong Thap University to pursue further education. He encouraged each student to approach their studies with dedication, conduct research responsibly, develop a scientific approach to their work, and effectively apply the knowledge gained to their professional practice, thereby making positive contributions to their organizations, local communities, and society.

Throughout the programs, the University aims to provide an environment in which students can further enhance their professional expertise and develop systematic approaches to learning, research, and professional practice. At the same time, students are encouraged to apply the outcomes of their studies and research to their professional activities within their organizations and local communities. This also provides a foundation for postgraduate programs to become increasingly aligned with practical needs.

Alongside the development of its academic programs, Dong Thap University continues to focus on enhancing the quality of its academic staff, strengthening scientific research, expanding cooperation, and fostering an educational environment guided by its philosophy of “Constructivist – Professional – Integrated,” thereby laying a foundation for improving educational quality and meeting human resource development needs in the new period.

In 2026, Dong Thap University continues to develop a multidisciplinary education system with diverse modes of study to meet the learning and professional development needs of various groups of learners. The University offers admission to 59 full-time undergraduate programs, along with 21 master’s programs, three doctoral programs, 31 part-time programs, and 12 distance education programs. Through its increasingly diverse range of programs, Dong Thap University continues to expand learning opportunities, contribute to human resource education and development, and meet the lifelong learning needs of learners across the Mekong Delta and many other localities throughout Vietnam.
