SCHOLARSHIP AWARD CEREMONY “LET GIRLS LEARN”

On the morning of September 6, at Dong Thap University, Women's Empowerment And Voice (WEAV) sponsored 25 scholarships (VND 2.5 million / scholarship) for 25 female students who overcame difficulties in studying.
Attending the ceremony were Prof.Dr. Lois Vietri, the founder of the WEAV scholarship program; Ph.D.Dang Thi Ngoc Lan, Director of WEAV scholarship program in Vietnam; Mr. Cao Dao Thep, Head of Student Affairs Office at Dong Thap University, together with the representatives of some related departments and female students who would receive scholarships from WEAV.
WEAV is a nonprofit organization that provides education, mentoring, and leadership development programs for girls and women in economically challenged communities in Vietnam. WEAV's vision is to promote gender equality in education for girls in the Mekong Delta. With the message "Let Girls Learn!", the schoolgirls of Dong Thap University have been sharing of life experiences, learning and working behaviors at the ceremony.

In recent years, female students of Dong Thap University have continuously received support from WEAV scholarship program. Dong Thap University highly appreciates the support and the companionship of domestic and foreign companies and international charity organizations for economically disadvantage students.
