On the 18th of July, 2017, the delegation from Ministry of Education of The Republic of China (Taiwan) led by the Administrative Deputy Minister of Education Dr. Lin Teng Chiao paid a visit to Dong Thap University (DThU).

Warmly welcoming the delegation was Assoc.Prof.Dr. Nguyen Van De, Rector of DThU, together with representatives from departments.

At the meeting, Assoc.Prof.Dr. Nguyen Van De introduced to the delegates some general information of DThU and the cooperation relationships between DThU and other Taiwanese universities such as: National Kaohsiung University of Applied Sciences, National Taichung University of Education and Dayeh University. These cooperations have partly helped DThU to meet the current need of Chinese language’s training in Dong Thap province. Besides, Assoc.Prof.Dr. Nguyen Van De expressed his thank-you to the Taipei Economic and Cultural Office in Ho Chi Minh City for assisting DThU in sending teachers to short-term teaching training courses in Taiwan as well as in receiving Taiwanese volunteer teacher to work at DThU.

Speaking at the meeting, Dr. Lin Teng Chiao thanked DThU for the hospitality and for the cooperation relationships with Taiwanese universities. He expressed that Ministry of Education of The Republic of China is striving for motivating cooperation with Ministry of Education and Training of Vietnam, especially in educational cooperation. He hopes that with the current good collaboration foundation, the cooperation links between DThU with other Taiwanese universities will definitely get good results.
