On August 8, at Lecture Theatre 1, Dong Thap University organized the 2026 Training Program for Media Collaborators and Students. The program reflected the University’s commitment to developing students’ media skills, enabling them to proactively access official information, enhance their content production skills, and share information responsibly in the digital environment.
The program was attended by representatives of the leadership of the Office of International Affairs and Communications; staff involved in communications; staff responsible for student management at faculties; media collaborators; Multimedia Communications students; and students involved in the Ho Chi Minh Communist Youth Union (HCYU), Viet Nam Union of Students (VUS), and University club activities.
The program featured speakers from Dong Thap Newspaper and Radio and Television, who shared practical experience in journalism and broadcasting through a session on “Basic News Writing and Photojournalism Skills,” covering information selection and processing, news writing techniques, headline writing, journalistic photography, and photo editing, combined with hands-on practice and direct interaction.
Focusing on television and digital content, the session on “Basic Skills in Television News Production, On-Site Reporting, and Livestreaming on Digital Platforms” introduced students to filming techniques, shot selection, lighting, interviewing, video editing, on-site reporting, and livestream production. These skills are closely aligned with how students today capture, produce, and share academic and extracurricular activities across digital platforms.
The training program featured lively discussions, with students actively raising questions and exploring real-world scenarios with the speakers. Topics such as selecting effective camera angles, crafting headlines, filming on location, and managing social media content were examined from a professional perspective, helping students better understand the importance of accuracy, timeliness, and responsibility in every piece of media content they produce.
The training program demonstrated Dong Thap University’s commitment to equipping students with essential competencies for the digital environment. With the ability to select, verify, and communicate information effectively, students can engage more proactively with the University’s official information channels while making meaningful contributions to communications activities within their faculties, the HCYU and VUS, and University clubs.
The knowledge and practical experience gained through the program provide students with a stronger foundation for participating in communications activities and sharing stories of learning, research, student activities, and campus life at Dong Thap University through accurate and engaging news stories, photographs, and videos that reflect current media trends.
