On June 27, in Da Lat City, Lam Dong Province, Dong Thap University held a conference to summarize the 2025–2026 academic year and implement directions and tasks for the 2026–2027 academic year.
For the 2025–2026 academic year, Dong Thap University identified the theme “Discipline – Creativity – Breakthrough – Development.” With that spirit, the University implemented key tasks synchronously in university governance, training, staff development, scientific research, digital transformation, international cooperation, admission counseling, business engagement, and community service.
The conference focused on evaluating the results of the academic year’s tasks, recognizing highlights and areas requiring further improvement, and determining orientations for the next phase. Task groups and basic indicators were implemented according to plan; many indicators met or exceeded requirements, reflecting the initiative of units in fulfilling assigned responsibilities.
In governance, the University continued to advance its development strategy, consolidate organizational structure, improve operational efficiency, and prepare conditions for the roadmap toward university autonomy. The DThU digital ecosystem was operated across various fields, supporting management, training, administration, work performance evaluation, and student services.
The training sector recorded many positive results. The University continued expanding majors and specializations to meet the demand for high-quality human resources, especially in technology, engineering, high-tech agriculture, economics, and fields serving the development of the Mekong Delta region. Training programs were reviewed and updated according to learning outcomes, enhancing practicality and alignment with labor market needs.
Training linkage, professional development, part-time learning, and distance education continued to expand. The University focused on upgrading the online learning management system, standardizing electronic learning materials, developing online lectures, and improving student support quality. Admission counseling was implemented through various forms—direct, online, and livestream on digital platforms—creating regular connections between the University and students, parents, and society.
Staff development remained a key mission. The University emphasized training, fostering, attracting, and developing lecturers and staff with professional qualifications, research capacity, digital competency, and innovative spirit. During the academic year, many staff members were sent for postgraduate training; many lecturers completed advanced training programs; the number of faculty members with academic titles and degrees continued to increase, meeting requirements for improving training and research quality.
Scientific research, technology, and innovation activities continued to be promoted in alignment with training, staff development, and practical needs. The University encouraged lecturers and researchers to participate in research, publish scientific works, develop research groups, and expand connections with localities, enterprises, and domestic and international partners.
Quality assurance and accreditation were implemented seriously. The University continued self-assessment, improving training programs, surveying stakeholders, developing a quality culture, and investing in facilities and equipment for training, assessment, scientific research, and digital transformation.
International cooperation activities were expanded in a practical and effective manner. The University maintained student exchange programs, received international students, experts, and foreign teaching assistants; and promoted joint programs, cooperation projects, internships, and academic exchanges. These activities created more opportunities for learning, experience, research, and integration for students and lecturers.
Student affairs, political and ideological education, school culture, physical education, school health, and student welfare were maintained regularly. The University continued building a safe, humane, and friendly educational environment; strengthened dialogue, counseling, and student support; connected employment opportunities; and encouraged lifelong learning.
