On the morning of June 5, Dong Thap University held the Launching Ceremony of the 2026 Summer Volunteer Student Campaign, attracting nearly 500 officials, Youth Union members, association members, and students from across the institution.
Attending the program were comrade Huynh Tan Thanh – Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Youth Union, Vice President of the Vietnam Youth Federation of Dong Thap Province. Representing Dong Thap University were comrade Pham Van Hiep – Member of the Standing Committee of the Party Committee, Head of the Party Committee’s Organization Board; comrade Nguyen Tri Tuc – Secretary of the Ho Chi Minh Communist Youth Union (HCYU) of Dong Thap University, along with members of the Executive Committee of the HCYU, the Viet Nam Union of Students, representatives of sponsoring units, and a large number of HCYU members and students.
Upholding the pioneering and volunteer spirit of the youth under the motto “Wherever youth are needed, they will be present; wherever challenges arise, youth will overcome them,” the 2026 Summer Volunteer Student Campaign of Dong Thap University is implemented with various practical activities aimed at serving the community. The “Green Summer Volunteer Campaign” Campaign at university level will take place from June 6 to August 2, 2026; the “DThU Exam Support Team” and “School Entry Support Program” programs will run from May to August 2026.
This year, the campaign focuses on key targets in social welfare, educational support, community digital transformation, environmental protection, children’s care, gratitude activities, supporting candidates during major examinations, and strengthening Youth Union organizations. Activities are implemented synchronously and practically, especially in disadvantaged areas within and outside the province.
During the program, the Organizing Committee introduced the core volunteer teams, including: “Digital Literacy Support Team”; “DThU Career Guidance and Counseling Team”; “Study English DThU Team”; “DThU Environmental Protection Team”; “DThU Exam Support Team”; “Children’s Summer Activities Team”; “Legal Education and Awareness Team”; “Student Volunteers for Community Social Work Team”, along with volunteer teams from affiliated grassroots HCYU units.
Through these volunteer teams, the youth of Dong Thap University will carry out meaningful activities such as supporting digital transformation for local residents; organizing English, computer science, and life skills classes for children; conducting environmental protection activities; caring for policy-beneficiary families and disadvantaged people; supporting students during the high school graduation exam and competency assessment exams; and implementing various youth-led community projects.
On this occasion, the Organizing Committee announced the Decision of the Standing Committee of the Dong Thap Provincial Ho Chi Minh Communist Youth Union recognizing comrade Huynh Thanh Thuong as Deputy Secretary of the HCYU of Dong Thap University.
The Launching Ceremony of the 2026 Summer Volunteer Student Campaign marks the beginning of a series of volunteer programs by the youth of Dong Thap University this summer, demonstrating their sense of responsibility, enthusiasm, and aspiration to contribute, joining hands to build a more developed Dong Thap homeland.
