A visit of Director of Institute of Social Sciences Research, Kyung-Pook National University, the Republic of Korea

On 17th September, 2016, Prof. Jo Huyn Mi, Director of Institute of Social Sciences Research, Kyung-Pook National University, the Republic of Korea paid a visit to Dong Thap University (DThU). 

 Warmly welcoming Prof. Jo was Dr. Luong Thanh Tan, Vice-rector of DThU, together with other staff. 
 
 

At the meeting, Dr. Tan and Prof. Jo discussed the possibilities of cooperation in research and training between the two universities such as researching on the social-economic elements which cause Vietnamese women in the Mekong Delta to get married to Korean people; the consequence of economic and social development to the living environment; building means of subsistence to adapt to climate change in the Mekong Delta; training master degree of Geography, teaching Korean language for Vietnamese people; organizing international conferences at Dong Thap University…

 After the meeting, Prof. Jo had a small informal workshop with lecturers and students of Geography Teacher Education Faculty on sharing a variety of information such as scientific research methods in Geography, Geography Teaching at high schools in the Republic of Korea, some general information about the Korean culture and people, the issues of population ageing, urbanization ... 
 

The working visit of Prof. Jo Huyn Mi at Dong Thap University has opened many prospects for scientific research cooperation on economic - social issues in the Mekong Delta between DThU and Institute of Social Sciences Research of Kyung-Pook National University, the Republic of Korea.
