On March 21, at Lecture Theatre 1, Dong Thap University coordinated with the Dong Thap Provincial Red Cross Society and the Can Tho Hematology and Blood Transfusion Hospital to organize the 2026 “Voluntary Blood Donation Day.”
The event was attended by Ms. Dang Thi Thu Uyen – Vice Chairwoman in charge of the Dong Thap Provincial Red Cross Society, along with representatives of coordinating units, the Red Cross Society, the Ho Chi Minh Communist Youth Union, and the Viet Nam Uninon of Student of Dong Thap University.
On this occasion, the Organizing Committee awarded 38 Certificates of Commendation to youth union members and young volunteers who have actively participated in voluntary blood donation three times or more. This timely recognition not only honors individual contributions but also helps spread noble humanitarian values and inspires the volunteer spirit of DThU youth in contributing to community health care.
The program officially began at 7:30 a.m. and attracted a large number of staff, employees, and students. To ensure smooth operation, preparations were carried out early with a scientific process, including health screening, blood testing, and blood collection in accordance with medical standards.
This activity once again affirms the tradition of mutual support and willingness to share—an admirable cultural value that has long been nurtured and developed at Dong Thap University.
