GD&TĐ – Dong Thap University has awarded nearly 1 billion VND in scholarships to attract high‑achieving students for the 2025 admission cycle.
To promptly encourage learning spirit and nurture young talent, Dong Thap University has granted scholarships to talented students (those with an entrance score of at least 25 points and a Grade 12 academic record of “Good” or higher) and to the top scorers of the 2025–2026 academic year, with a total funding of nearly 1 billion VND.
This is the third consecutive year that Dong Thap University has implemented its scholarship policy to attract high‑quality students. To date, more than 300 students from the 2023 to 2025 admission cohorts have benefited from this policy, contributing to motivating learners, retaining outstanding students, and improving the university’s training quality. For the 2025–2026 academic year alone, the estimated budget for this scholarship package is about 4.74 billion VND, with a support level of 15.8 million VND per student per year.
The scholarship package aimed at attracting excellent students to study at Dong Thap University carries practical significance, demonstrating the university’s strong commitment to learners and to the development of high‑quality human resources for Dong Thap Province and the Mekong Delta region.
Accordingly, scholarships are awarded to students who achieve high results in the entrance examination and to the top scorers of each academic program. Timely recognition and support not only acknowledge students’ efforts but also help spread a positive learning spirit throughout the university.
A representative of Dong Thap University emphasized: Investing in students, especially talented ones, is investing in the future. The scholarship policy is one of the key solutions to realizing the university’s learner‑centered educational philosophy, creating favorable conditions for students to study, train, and develop comprehensively.
In addition, each year the university allocates at least 8% of its tuition revenue from regular college and university programs to fund merit‑based scholarships in accordance with Decree No. 84/2020/NĐ‑CP. Specifically, in 2024, the university allocated 10.7% of its total tuition revenue from regular college and university students—about 17 billion VND—to the merit‑based scholarship fund for high‑achieving students, and more than 5 billion VND to special funds supporting other types of scholarships.
Alongside scholarship programs, Dong Thap University continues to enhance training quality, innovate curricula, and build a modern, friendly learning environment. The university also promotes scientific research, entrepreneurship, innovation, and international integration, helping students develop their abilities and meet labor‑market demands in the context of digital transformation and global integration.
For scholarship recipients, this support is not only financial assistance but also a great source of motivation, strengthening their confidence and encouraging them to strive further in their studies and life. Many students shared that they consider the scholarship a responsibility, motivating them to achieve even better academic and personal development results.
The awarding of nearly 1 billion VND in scholarships to talented students and top scorers in the 2025 admission cycle reaffirms Dong Thap University’s reputation, social responsibility, and sustainable development orientation in the field of education and training.Source: Giao duc & Thoi dai Newspaperhttps://giaoducthoidai.vn/truong-dai-hoc-dong-thap-trao-gan-1-ty-dong-hoc-bong-thu-hut-hoc-sinh-gioi-post762481.html
