Promoting the Effectiveness of Enrollment Counseling: Gratitude, Connection, and Companionship

On December 25, in the Phu Quoc Special Zone, Dong Thap University organized the Conference to review the enrollment counseling activities in 2025 and to launch the enrollment plan for 2026.

Attending the conference were MSc., Senior Lecturer Cao Dao Thep – Permanent Deputy Secretary of the Party Committee – Vice Rector; Assoc. Prof. Dr. Ho Sy Thang – Vice Rector; Dr. Nguyen Quoc Vu – Vice Rector; Mr. Nguyen Hoang Nhi – Former Director of the Department of Education and Training of Dong Thap Province; the University’s Enrollment Counseling Steering Committee; representatives of leaders of offices, departments, and centers; leaders of the School of Education and training faculties; representatives of universities, colleges, vocational schools, continuing education centers, high schools, and partner units collaborating in training with Dong Thap University.

The conference recorded many shared insights on effective practices in coordinating enrollment counseling over the past period, as well as new ideas for enrollment counseling in 2026 from participating delegates.

Speaking at the conference, MA Senior Lecturer Cao Dao Thep, Vice Rector of Dong Thap University, emphasized: In 2025, despite many difficulties and challenges in higher education, the enrollment work of Dong Thap University still achieved positive results. The University maintained a stable enrollment scale, gradually improved the quality of incoming students, and expanded channels to reach learners in a flexible and practical manner.

The University leadership acknowledged and highly appreciated the responsible coordination of high schools, training partners, and the active participation of staff, lecturers, and students in enrollment counseling activities. The companionship of units and individuals plays an important role in connecting learners with the University, contributing to building and developing an interconnected educational ecosystem that meets the human resource training needs of the locality and the region.

For the 2026 enrollment cycle, Dong Thap University plans to recruit 6,470 students across 58 undergraduate programs, 01 college-level Early Childhood Education program, and postgraduate programs including 03 doctoral majors and 18 master’s majors; 31 part-time training programs and 11 distance-learning programs; continuing professional development programs, professional–skills training, foreign language and IT training, and organizing examinations and issuing foreign language certificates according to the 6-level Vietnamese Language Proficiency Framework (VSTEP).

The University will continue to implement flexible, transparent, and public enrollment methods; while strengthening counseling, career orientation, and timely information provision to support learners in choosing suitable majors.

With the spirit of “gratitude, connection, and companionship,” the Conference served as an opportunity to review and comprehensively evaluate the enrollment counseling activities of 2025; while affirming Dong Thap University’s determination to innovate, improve enrollment quality, enhance connection and sustainable cooperation, and meet the educational development requirements of the new period.
