On December 24, a delegation from the Mekong Delta Regional Representative Office of the Giao duc & Thoi dai Newspaper, led by Mr. Nguyen Xuan Loc, head of the regional office, and accompanied by staff and reporters, visited and worked with Dong Thap University, aiming to enhance coordination and strengthen communication activities related to the university’s education and training efforts.

During the meeting, Nguyen Xuan Loc shared that over its 66-year history, the newspaper has served as a trusted platform for the education sector and a bridge between education and society.

Evaluating the cooperation between the two units, Mr. Loc affirmed that it has produced highly positive outcomes. In 2025 alone, nearly 100 articles about the university were published, helping to highlight good practices, exemplary individuals, and guide public opinion on emerging issues. Joint efforts in major events—such as the STEM Education Festival, admissions counseling programs, and media training—further demonstrated the effectiveness of the 2024–2030 strategic cooperation agreement.

He added that the newspaper proposed expanding comprehensive collaboration, with plans to strengthen the university’s media presence through dedicated livestream admissions programs, organize the 2026 STEM Festival, and support the optimization of its social media channels. The newspaper also expressed its readiness to assist in practical skills training for communication students and provide consultation on crisis management and brand protection. Mr. Loc reaffirmed the newspaper’s commitment to serving as an extended arm that brings the university’s values and identity to readers nationwide, wishing for continued strong and successful cooperation.

Assoc. Prof. Dr. Ho Van Thong, Rector of Dong Thap University, stated that both sides have agreed on a strategic and comprehensive communication cooperation plan for 2026.
This plan aims to strengthen the university’s national visibility and reinforce its reputation through official communication channels. A key focus is promoting the university’s brand alongside its achievements in training, research, and community service. Both sides will coordinate closely in admissions communication, expanding coverage across all stages—before, during, and after the admissions season.

A notable feature of the plan is the use of digital platforms and experiential activities. The two units will jointly organize dedicated online livestream admissions programs to address questions and provide in-depth information to students and parents. The newspaper will also support the university in improving internal communication channels, social media presence, and organizing professional training for staff to build a sustainable brand culture.

Beyond promotional activities, the cooperation brings practical benefits to learners. The newspaper will host and guide communication and social sciences students during internships, giving them exposure to a professional journalism environment. Workshops on journalism skills and event organization will provide valuable knowledge for students. As an information bridge, the newspaper will promptly highlight innovative educational models and exemplary individuals from the university, helping build public trust and expand the university’s influence. It will also support the university in communication consulting and crisis management when needed.

At the end of the working session, both sides agreed on key communication activities to promote the university’s image and achievements across the newspaper’s media ecosystem. This outcome marks a new milestone in their comprehensive cooperation and contributes to the development of higher education institutions in Dong Thap Province and the Mekong Delta region.
