On December 21, at Hall H1, the XII Congress of the VUS of Dong Thap University, term 2025–2028, took place successfully under the action motto “Aspiration – Knowledge – Courage – Integration.” With a spirit of democracy and high consensus, 159 delegates elected the new Executive Committee and identified strategic goals for the university’s student movement in the digital era.
Attending the Congress were leaders and distinguished guests: Mr. Nguyen Duc Nguyen – Vice President of the VNUS Central Committee; Mr. Mai Minh Luan – Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Youth Union, Vice Chairman of the Dong Thap Provincial Council of HYPO; Mr. Cao Dao Thep – Permanent Deputy Secretary of the Party Committee, Vice Rector of the University. The Congress was also honored to welcome representatives of the University Trade Union, the University Youth Union, leaders of departments, faculties, and centers; former Presidents and Vice Presidents of the University VNUS; representatives of Phuong Thanh Dental Co., Ltd., Sen Style Co., Ltd., Yakul Vietnam Co., Ltd., Cao Lanh VNPT, along with reporters from Dong Thap Newspaper, Radio, and Television.
During the previous term, the VUS of Dong Thap University affirmed its core role in the student movement through numerous practical activities with positive impact. With these contributions, the VUS of Dong Thap University was honored to receive the Emulation Flag for “Outstanding Unit in VNUS Work and Student Movements” awarded by the VNUS Central Committee, and many collectives and individuals were commended and rewarded.
The Congress unanimously approved the summary report and set out directions for the new term. The key objective is to promote the “Student with 5 good criteria” movement, creating a favorable environment for students to cultivate courage, master knowledge, and serve the community. This contributes to developing a generation of students with a spirit of dedication, adaptability, and confidence in international integration amid digital transformation.
With strong trust, the Congress elected the XII Executive Committee consisting of 27 members. Mr. Nguyen Thanh Hai was re-elected as President of the VUS of Dong Thap University for the 2025–2028 term. The Congress also elected the Secretariat with 9 members (including 3 Vice Presidents) and the Inspection Committee with 5 members.
In their remarks, representatives of the VNUS Central Committee and the University Party Committee highly appreciated the achievements attained, while offering orientations for the University’s VUS to continue innovating its operational methods and truly becoming a reliable companion of students.
The Congress concluded in an atmosphere of excitement, reflecting the determination of all of Dong Thap University VUS members and students to enter the new term with the spirit of “Aspiration – Knowledge – Courage – Integration.”
