On November 19th, 2015, the delegation from Emmen Region and Stenden Univeristy of Applied Sciences, the Netherlands led by Mr. Cees Bijl, the Mayor of Emmen region paid a working visit to Dong Thap University (DThU).

Warmly welcoming the delegation from Emmen region and Stenden Univeristy of Applied Sciences was Assoc. Prof. Dr. Nguyen Van De, Rector of DThU, together with other staff and teachers. 

At the meeting, there were also the presence of Mr. Nguyen Thanh Hung – Deputy Chairman of Dong Thap Province, Mr. Nguyen Huu Xuan – Director of Dong Thap External Relations Department, Mr. Tran Thanh Liem – Director of Dong Thap Education and Training Department.

Speaking at the meeting, Mr. Nguyen Van De expressed the hope that Stenden University of Applied Sciences will assist DThU in training as well as in international cooperation. Besides, he expected that there would be many chances of effective cooperation between the two universities as well as with Emmen Region in the year to come.

On behalf of the delegation, Mr. Cees Bijl – the Mayor of Emmen region and Mr. Leendert Klaassen – the President of Stenden University also expressed their thank-you to the Rector and the staff for giving them a warm reception.  Mr. Leendert Klaassen commented that after taking a tour around the campus, he could see many opportunities for cooperation with such a dynamic university like DThU.

At the end of the meeting, a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) between Dong Thap University and Stenden Univeristy of Applied Sciences was officially signed to mark the first step of the two universities’ cooperation. Mr. Nguyen Thanh Hung – Deputy Chairman of Dong Thap Province, on behalf of the local government, extended his congratulations on the MOU signing ceremony. The Deputy Chairman of Dong Thap Province asserted that the cooperation between the two universities would be an effective one and that the local government would be willing to create favorable conditions for this cooperation.
