Within the framework of international cooperation between Dong Thap University (DThU) and Guimaras State University (GSU), Philippines, Ms. Mai Thi Thao – a lecturer from the Faculty of Foreign Languages – was nominated by DThU to take part in the Cultural Exchange Program at GSU from August 31 to September 6, 2025.
From September 2 to 5, Ms. Thao delivered lectures on “Vietnamese Language and Culture” to a large number of students from GSU’s Colleges of Arts and Sciences, Teacher Education, Engineering and Industrial Technology, Science and Technology, Business Management, Tourism and Hospitality Management, Agricultural Sciences, and Criminal Justice Education. Through these engaging sessions, she introduced unique aspects of Vietnamese language, arts, folklore, and history. The lectures also fostered an open dialogue, allowing GSU students to appreciate the cultural similarities and connections between the two countries.
This activity highlights the role of DThU lecturers as cultural ambassadors, promoting the image of Vietnam and its people to international friends. It also marks an important step in the university’s strategy for internationalization of education, paving the way for deeper collaboration with GSU and other global partners.Photos of the program:
