DThU - On August 6, Dong Thap University welcomed and held a working session with Tien Giang University as part of a collaborative exchange program focused on training organization, scientific research, digital transformation, innovation, and faculty development.

The delegation from Tien Giang University was led by Assoc. Prof. Dr. Vo Ngoc Ha, Rector, along with other members. Representing Dong Thap University were Dr. Truong Tan Dat, Party Committee Secretary and Chairman of the University Council; Assoc. Prof. Dr. Ho Van Thong, Rector; Assoc. Prof. Dr. Ho Sy Thang, Vice Rector; and leaders of departments, faculties, and lecturers.

The working session took place in an open and collaborative atmosphere, with discussions centered around experiences in scientific research, technology transfer, innovation, faculty development, and building expert networks. Dong Thap University showcased its facilities, laboratories, and exemplary experimental models, while sharing insights on training organization, research management, technology transfer, innovation programs, digital transformation, and strategies for connecting domestic and international expert networks.

Over the past two decades, Dong Thap University has significantly expanded its research activities in both scale and quality, with thousands of scientific and technological projects at various levels, including those funded by the Nafosted Foundation, ministries, and provinces. More than 5,500 research papers have been published, nearly 700 of which are indexed in Scopus and Web of Science, reflecting the academic strength and international integration of its faculty. The university emphasizes theoretical research while promoting entrepreneurship and innovation among students, with many technology-driven projects winning national and regional awards and producing highly applicable scientific products that blend knowledge and creativity.

Models such as the cultivation of turkey tail and lingzhi mushrooms and the breeding technologies for Siamese mud carp and frogs clearly reflect the university’s mission of “Connection – Application – Community Service.” These initiatives bridge the gap between academia and real-world practice. With a strong foundation in research, innovation, and student development, Dong Thap University is steadily affirming its role as a knowledge hub, nurturing talent, and conducting scientific work that contributes to the sustainable development of the Southern region and the nation.
