On the afternoon of July 23, Dong Thap University, in coordination with the VNU Center for Education Accreditation-Hanoi (VNU HN-CEA) and the External Evaluation Expert Team, held the closing ceremony of the official site visit for the accreditation of six undergraduate and postgraduate academic programs.
Attending the ceremony, representing the VNU HN-CEA, was Assoc. Prof. Dr. Ta Thi Thu Hien, Director of the VNU HN-CEA and a member of the External Evaluation Expert Team.
The External Evaluation Expert Team was headed by Prof. Dr. Tran Trung, Director of the Viet Nam Academy of Ethnic Minorities, along with experts in higher education quality accreditation.
From Dong Thap University, attendees included Dr. Truong Tan Dat, Party Committee Secretary and Chairman of the University Council; Assoc. Prof. Dr. Ho Van Thong, Rector of the University; MA. Senior Lecturer Cao Dao Thep, Executive Deputy Party Committee Secretary and Vice Rector; Dr. Nguyen Quoc Vu, Vice Rector; Assoc. Prof. Dr. Ho Sy Thang, Vice Rector; Meritorious Teacher Assoc. Prof. Dr. Nguyen Van De, Chair of the Council of Science and Training; and leaders from relevant faculties, offices, centers, and affiliated units.
During the visit from July 21 to 23, the External Evaluation Expert Team conducted assessment activities according to external evaluation procedures, including reviewing documentation, on-site inspection, and interviews with faculty members, students, alumni, support staff, and employer representatives. Based on these findings, the team provided preliminary conclusions on the current quality status of the six academic programs while acknowledging the positive outcomes and key strengths of the university in curriculum organization, human resource development, infrastructure, and internal quality assurance.
In addition, the team offered constructive recommendations to help Dong Thap University and its academic units continue improving the programs to enhance training quality and meet the rising demands of learners and the labor market.
Prior to this visit, Dong Thap University already had 26 undergraduate programs, 2 master’s programs, and 1 college-level program recognized for meeting educational quality standards. The continued accreditation of six new programs reflects the university’s consistent strategic direction, with a focus on quality enhancement and transparency in academic information for all stakeholders.
At the ceremony, representatives of all three parties—Dong Thap University, the VNU Center for Education Accreditation-Hanoi, and the External Evaluation Expert Team—signed the Memorandum of Completion for the official site visit, marking the end of the assessment and launching the next phase of improvement activities as recommended.
