On the morning of July 21, Dong Thap University solemnly held the opening ceremony of the official site visit for the accreditation of six academic programs at both undergraduate and graduate levels.
Attending the ceremony from the VNU Center for Education Accreditation—Hanoi (VNU HN-CEA) was Assoc. Prof. Dr. Dinh Van Toan, Chair of the Education Quality Accreditation Council and Deputy Director of VNU HN-CEA (attending online); from the External Evaluation Expert Team was Prof. Dr. Tran Trung, Director of the Viet Nam Academy of Ethnic Minorities and Head of the team, along with other team members.
From Dong Thap University, attendees included Dr. Truong Tan Dat, Party Committee Secretary and Chairman of the University Council; Assoc. Prof. Dr. Ho Van Thong, Rector of the University; MA. Senior Lecturer Cao Dao Thep, Executive Deputy Party Committee Secretary and Vice Rector; Dr. Nguyen Quoc Vu, Vice Rector; Assoc. Prof. Dr. Ho Sy Thang, Vice Rector; Meritorious Teacher Assoc. Prof. Dr. Nguyen Van De, Chair of the Council of Science and Training; as well as representatives from university units and students from the academic programs under accreditation.
In his opening remarks, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Ho Van Thong emphasized, “…At Dong Thap University, training quality has always been a top priority in our development strategy. Participating in the accreditation of academic programs not only affirms the university’s responsibility to learners and society but also provides an opportunity for us to objectively and comprehensively review our strengths, as well as limitations and shortcomings, so we may continue to improve and enhance our educational quality…”
Since 2019, the university has received quality accreditation for 28 academic programs based on the quality standards set by the Ministry of Education and Training.
Representing the VNU HN-CEA, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Dinh Van Toan reaffirmed, “The implementation of external evaluation for the academic programs at Dong Thap University continues to demonstrate the institution’s commitment and responsibility to learners and society in enhancing educational quality to meet the growing demands of the labor market.”

The opening ceremony was attended by university leaders, heads of faculties, departments, and centers, academic and administrative staff, lecturers, students, and representatives of local media outlets.
At the end of the ceremony, university leaders, the evaluation team, and representatives of VNU-CEA took commemorative photos, symbolizing mutual respect and strong collaboration toward advancing education quality.
This official site visit is a significant activity that further affirms the reputation, credibility, and unwavering commitment of Dong Thap University in continuously improving the quality of its training to contribute to the socio-economic development of the Mekong Delta region and the country at large.
