On the morning of Sunday, July 20, at the English Language Zone - Building H1, the Faculty of Foreign Languages, in collaboration with the Office of Graduate Studies and the Office of International Affairs and Communications, held a farewell meeting for master’s students in the Theory and Methodology of English Language Teaching prior to their Interim Field Trip to Samar State University, Philippines. The trip, which combines academic engagement with cultural immersion, is scheduled to take place from July 21 to July 27.
In attendance were Dr. Vo Phan Thu Ngan, Dean of the Faculty of Foreign Languages; Dr. Nguyen Hoang Anh, Head of the Office of Graduate Studies; MA Nguyen Anh Thu, Head of the Office of International Affairs and Communications; program coordinators; and 21 postgraduate students in the Theory and Methodology of English Language Teaching program.
Speaking at the meeting, Dr. Vo Phan Thu Ngan expressed her gratitude to the leadership of Dong Thap University and Samar State University for facilitating and supporting this study trip as part of the academic and student exchange collaboration between the two institutions. Dr. Ngan also encouraged the students to strictly observe the laws of the host country, the rules and regulations of Samar State University, and the academic requirements of the field study module. She wished them a successful and meaningful journey.
According to the itinerary, during the trip, students will attend themed lectures as part of their English Language Teaching field study module at Samar State University. They will also visit Northwest Samar State University, Samar National High School, and participate in cultural exchanges with the local community in Catbalogan City, Philippines.
The farewell meeting served as a source of great motivation and encouragement for the postgraduate students as they prepared for their international learning journey. The trip not only offers them valuable practical experience in English language teaching but also strengthens team spirit, promotes a culture of learning and cooperation, and fosters global integration. The experiences gained in the Philippines will serve as a meaningful foundation, contributing to the enhancement of graduate education quality and reinforcing the educational partnership between Dong Thap University and Samar State University.
