Comrade Huynh Thanh Son – Member of the Executive Committee of the Dong Thap Provincial Party Committee, Deputy Secretary of the Party Committee of the Dong Thap Provincial People's Committee; Comrade Pham Minh Khoa – Deputy Head of the Provincial Party Committee's Organization Commission; Comrade Nguyen Thi Bich Thuan – Deputy Secretary of the Party Committee of the Dong Thap Provincial People's Committee, along with other leaders representing the advisory bodies of the Party Committee of the Provincial People’s Committee, the Provincial Government’s Youth Union, and secretaries and deputy secretaries of party committees under the Provincial Party Committee, attended the Congress.
In the past term, inheriting and promoting the achievements and valuable experiences of previous terms, the Party Committee of Dong Thap University, together with all its cadres, Party members, officials, and staff, actively implemented the Resolutions of the University's Party Congress and the Party Congresses at all levels. Despite various challenges and advantages, thanks to the leadership and direction of the Standing Committee of the Provincial Government Party Committee (now the Party Committee of the Provincial People’s Committee), the support of advisory agencies, and coordination with university leadership—especially the solidarity and consensus among the Party Committee and all staff—the Party Committee successfully fulfilled its political tasks. Notably, political-ideological education, party building, and leadership of mass organizations saw significant progress.
Entering the 2025–2030 term, the Party Committee of Dong Thap University resolves to continue improving the leadership capacity and operational quality of subordinate party organizations; comprehensively leading the University's political tasks; enhancing the quality of education; expanding international cooperation; promoting scientific research linked with technology transfer and community service; accelerating digital transformation in all operational areas of the University. The goal is to build Dong Thap University into a reputable center for high-quality human resource training in the Mekong Delta region and nationwide. The Party Committee also aims to build clean, strong party organizations and units; effectively conduct inspection, supervision, and discipline enforcement; and develop a contingent of politically firm, morally sound, and professionally capable Party members and staff who meet the task requirements. The Congress adopted 18 key targets for the new term.
The Congress elected the 19th Executive Committee of Dong Thap University’s Party Committee for the 2025–2030 term, consisting of 27 members. The Standing Committee includes 8 members (with one vacancy). Comrade Truong Tan Dat – Member of the Executive Committee of the Provincial Party Committee, Secretary of the 18th Party Committee of Dong Thap University, and Chairman of the University Council – was re-elected as Secretary of the 19th Party Committee for the 2025–2030 term. Comrade Ho Van Thong – Rector of Dong Thap University – and Comrade Cao Dao Thep – Vice Rector – were elected Deputy Secretaries of the 19th Party Committee.
The Congress also elected 25 official delegates and 4 alternate delegates from Dong Thap University’s Party Committee to attend the Provincial Party Congress of the Dong Thap Provincial People’s Committee.
The Congress called on all cadres, Party members, officials, and staff of the University’s Party Committee to uphold the tradition of unity and consensus, overcome difficulties, promote initiative and creativity, intensify patriotic emulation movements, innovate working methods, and strive to successfully achieve the goals and tasks set by the 19th Party Congress of Dong Thap University. This will contribute to the successful implementation of the 2025–2030 term Resolution of the Provincial Party Committee and the 14th National Party Congress Resolution.
