On February 27, the Prime Minister issued Decision No. 452/QĐ-TTg approving the planning of the network of higher education and teacher training institutions for the period 2021–2030, with a vision to 2050.
Accordingly, Dong Thap University is identified as one of the 14 core institutions for teacher education nationwide.
Under the approved plan, Dong Thap University will continue to receive state investment to enhance its capacity in teacher training. The university is expected to offer between 7,200 and 8,000 annual enrollment quotas for teacher education programs, alongside non-pedagogical disciplines.
With nearly 50 years of tradition in training teachers and educational administrators, and 22 years of integration and development as a university, Dong Thap University has affirmed its reputation in education, particularly in teacher training.
In 2025, Dong Thap University will offer admissions for 3 doctoral programs (Educational Management, Theory and Methodology of Teaching Mathematics, and Theoretical and Physical Chemistry), 18 master's programs, and 50 undergraduate majors.
Among these, there are 19 teacher education programs, fully aligned with the subjects in the current General Education Curriculum.
