From May 5 to 9, 2025, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Ho Van Thong – Rector of Dong Thap University – is participating in the Manager Study Visit program at the University of Burgos (UBU), Spain, under the GreenEdAsia project – Erasmus+ Capacity Building in Higher Education (2024–2027).
The Manager Study Visit is a key activity of the project, gathering leaders from higher education institutions in Vietnam, Thailand, Spain, and Finland. The program provides an opportunity for delegates to exchange management experiences, share development strategies in the context of globalization, and promote effective connections between Universities, Businesses, and Society.
The GreenEdAsia project aims to enhance university governance capacity and promote sustainable education, particularly in two key areas: circular economy and renewable energy. This is achieved by integrating green transition content into the training programs, research, and development strategies of universities. The project is coordinated by Ho Chi Minh City University of Technology and Education (HCMUTE), in collaboration with partners including HAMK University of Applied Sciences (Finland), University of Burgos (Spain), RMUTT and RMUTL (Thailand), and Dong Thap University (DThU).

In addition to training sessions, practical activities such as visits to the Hiperbaric production facility, the Atapuerca archaeological site, and the Prado Rey winery allowed delegates to experience firsthand the university-business-community initiatives in Spain that promote green development. These activities also offered project members the opportunity to share best practices and discuss the orientation for developing innovative training programs tailored to local contexts and the green transition needs in Southeast Asia.
