On the morning of February 17, a delegation from Dong Thap University, led by Vice Rector Dr. Nguyen Quoc Vu, attended the kick-off meeting of the project "Learning for a Sustainable Future – Higher Education for Green Transition in Southeast Asia" (GreenEdAsia) at Ho Chi Minh City University of Technology and Education (HCMUTE).

GreenEdAsia is the second project under the Erasmus+ program in which Dong Thap University has participated. The project aims to promote sustainable development through higher education in Southeast Asia, laying the foundation for an education system that integrates green and environmentally friendly elements.

With a total budget of 800,000 euros funded by the European Union, the project involves universities from Vietnam, Finland, Spain, and Thailand, including HCMUTE, Dong Thap University, Häme University of Applied Sciences (HAMK), University of Burgos (UBU), Rajamangala University of Technology Thanyaburi (RMUTT), and Rajamangala University of Technology Lanna (RMUTL). The project is expected to last until October 2027, with HCMUTE taking the lead in curriculum development and fostering educational cooperation among universities in the region and beyond.

As part of the project, the "GreenEdAsia Project and Future Foresight Workshop" will take place from February 17 to 21, 2025, at HCMUTE. The event will bring together students, scientists, and businesses operating in the fields of renewable energy and environmental protection. The workshop will focus on discussions about sustainable higher education strategies and strengthening collaboration between educational institutions and enterprises.

GreenEdAsia is expected to make a significant contribution to promoting green transition in Southeast Asia while creating numerous international cooperation opportunities, fostering the development of a modern and sustainable higher education system.
