On November 9, 2024, the Ministry of Education and Training held the Closing Ceremony and Award Presentation for the 2024 "Science and Technology Awards for University Students" at Ho Chi Minh City University of Education.
The Science and Technology Awards for University Students is an annual event organized by the Ministry of Education and Training to honor individuals and groups with outstanding achievements in student scientific research activities. Participation in such activities enables students to apply their classroom knowledge to real-life situations, enhancing the quality of education and fostering entrepreneurship at universities.
This year's awards attracted 536 scientific research projects from 95 universities nationwide. Following the evaluation round, the organizers selected 106 outstanding projects to advance to the final round. The results included 18 First Prizes, 85 Second Prizes, as well as Third and Consolation Prizes.
In the final round, Dong Thap University had one project selected for presentation and it won the Second Prize. The project, titled "Developing a System of Exercises to Teach Synonyms and Antonyms Oriented Towards Competency Development for 5th Grade Students in Cao Lanh City, Dong Thap Province," was conducted by a group of Primary Education students: Mai Phuong Du, Nguyen Truong Yen Nhi, and Nguyen Thi Thuy Duong, under the guidance of Dr. Tran Hoang Anh, a lecturer from the Faculty of Primary and Preschool Education at Dong Thap University.
This marks the second consecutive year that Dong Thap University has had a student research project advance to the final round and win a Second Prize. The university congratulates the research team and their advisor on this excellent achievement in student scientific research. It is hoped that these accomplishments will inspire future generations of students to continue their passion for scientific research, contributing to the growth of the university's research movement.
