On October 30, Dong Thap University coordinated with the Department of Education and Training of An Giang province to organize the opening ceremony of the training courses for junior high school teachers of natural sciences to meet the national 2018 general education curriculum (the 2018 Curriculum). The participating teachers are those who are working at educational institutions in An Giang province. The ceremony took place on-site right at the training location.
Representatives of An Giang province’s Department of Education and Training attended the ceremony, including Mr. Le Trong Tri, director of the department; Mr. Le Quoc Mong Bao, deputy director of An Giang Continuing Education Center. Representatives of Dong Thap University were present at the ceremony, including Dr. Luong Thanh Tan, vice rector, Mr. Tran Van Luan, deputy director of Training Cooperation and Vocational Education Center.  87 trainees who are teachers in general educational institutions participated in three professional training courses.

The training courses are organized with a combination of face-to-face and online learning, expected to take place from October 30, 2024 to December 15, 2024. They are divided into specialized courses for junior high school teachers. The training contents are in line with the instructions of the Ministry of Education and Training on implementing the regular training programs for junior high school teachers according to the 2018 Curriculum.
After completing the training courses, participating teachers will be equipped with additional knowledge and skills, qualities and capacities to meet the requirements of professional expertise of the current general education curriculum. This is an opportunity for them to enhance their knowledge, practice, and improve their self-study and research capacity to be able to adapt to all teaching conditions, and meet the requirements of innovation in the general education system.
Dong Thap University is currently continuing to enroll trainees for continuing professional development programs for teachers in educational institutions.
