GD&TĐ – In early September 2024, over 5,000 teacher education students at Dong Thap University received support for tuition and living expenses under Decree 116.
According to Dong Thap University, by September 2024, more than 5,000 teacher education students from the 2021, 2022, and 2023 cohorts are benefiting from Decree 116/2020, which provides support for tuition fees and living expenses for those enrolled in teacher training programs.
For the incoming class of 2024, the university recently organized an informational meeting with over 2,000 teacher education students to introduce Decree 116 and explain the process and eligibility criteria. This guidance aims to ensure that students maximize their benefits under the decree, which not only attracts high-achieving students to the teaching profession but also enhances teacher training quality and aligns education with local employment needs.
In compliance with Decree 116 and related directives on task assignment and training orders, Dong Thap University has shared a list of teacher education students with local permanent residency so that provincial education departments can place training orders in line with local demand. This proactive coordination aims to match education student training with local teacher shortages.
Over recent years, Dong Thap University has received training orders from several provinces within the Mekong Delta and is continuing to provide relevant information to secure additional orders for the 2024 intake.
This support initiative presents a valuable opportunity for teacher education students, offering substantial assistance with their studies and professional development. Dong Thap University remains committed to providing favorable conditions for education students to excel, backed by supportive policies that link education with career placement.
Sub 1: Dr. Truong Tan Dat, Chairman of Dong Thap University Council, meets with teacher education students receiving support under Decree 116.
Sub2: Dong Thap University students discuss and receive guidance on accessing benefits from Decree 116.
