On November 6, 2024, Dong Thap University hosted a working session with a distinguished delegation from Chuxiong Normal University, China. The session was chaired by Mr. Cao Dao Thep, Vice Rector of Dong Thap University, along with Mr. Nguyen Van Dung, Dean of the School of Education, and heads of various departments. The visiting delegation, led by Mr. He Yongtai, Vice President of Chuxiong Normal University, included Deans and Vice Deans from several faculties directly involved in the academic and training programs central to the collaboration between the two universities.
A highlight of the meeting was the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) aimed at enhancing cooperation in education, training, scientific research, and cultural exchange. A unique feature of the agreement is the introduction of a "3+1" training model, where students will study for three years at Dong Thap University and one year at Chuxiong Normal University. A "2+2" model was also discussed, allowing students to split their studies equally between the two institutions. Both universities emphasized their commitment to student and faculty safety and quality of life during exchanges, underscoring their shared goal of fostering a supportive and enriching environment.
The two universities also explored expanding scientific research partnerships, particularly in emerging fields such as Energy, Information Technology, Digital Transformation, and Artificial Intelligence (AI). This marks the beginning of what both parties envision as a fruitful, long-term collaboration in these areas.
