He is an educational manager with heart and vision, passionate about writing books and articles for the younger generation, and adept at turning major issues into minor ones and minor issues into none at all. This is the exemplary image of Associate Professor, Dr. Pham Minh Gian - a senior lecturer and former Vice Rector of Dong Thap University (DThU). Though he has reached the age of retirement from leadership and management roles, his passion for teaching keeps him actively involved at the university.

Born and raised in the Land of Pink Lotus, Dr. Phạm Minh Gian graduated from the University of Education in 1983 with honors. Since embarking on his teaching career, his aspiration has been to serve and contribute knowledge to the education sector in his province.
Over more than 40 years of service, Dr. Gian has devoted his life to education and research. His longest tenure (22 years) has been at DThU since 2000, where he has excelled in various roles. Notably, he has significantly contributed to the growth in both quality and quantity of the teaching staff, the expansion of training programs to meet societal needs, and the advancement of scientific research. He has been actively involved in teaching master's and doctoral programs, consistently updating his knowledge and adapting teaching methods to suit different student groups. He has guided over 80 students to successfully defend their research theses.
Dr. Gian is known not only for his academic teachings but also for imparting life lessons. Commenting on this, Mr. Phan Anh, a lecturer at DThU, said, "Dr. Giản is always dedicated to his work. Despite his busy schedule, whenever we face difficulties, meeting with him turns major problems into minor ones and minor ones into none at all."
With his kind face, gentle smile, humble and approachable manner, Dr. Gian maintains a close bond with his colleagues and students. Dr. Nguyen Thi Ngoc Ha, a senior lecturer in the Psychology Department at DThU, shared, "With Dr. Gian, I find it easy to express my thoughts when sharing with him."
A lifelong lover of reading, Dr. Gian has won numerous awards through his passion for books. This has further fueled his desire to promote reading culture among the younger generation. He has quietly inspired many, especially teachers and students, to embrace reading through his writings.
Mr. Nguyen Hoang Nam, Deputy Director of the Le Vu Hung Learning Resource Center, noted, "Dr. Gian is very dedicated to researching the field of education. He has written and published 16 textbooks, reference books, and monographs, completed 8 projects at various levels, and published 68 scientific articles, including 2 in international journals. Notably, he has authored 3 books about President Ho Chi Minh." Dr. Gian is among the most prolific writers at DThU.
