In 2024, Dong Thap University plans to admit over 5,000 students across more than 40 undergraduate programs and one associate program in Pre-School Education. Notably, the university will introduce three new undergraduate programs: Logistics and Supply Chain Management, Food Technology, and Construction Engineering.
In the 2024 admissions, alongside scholarships and policies aimed at attracting excellent students, ethnic minority students admitted to Dong Thap University will receive priority and preferential policies. These include:
Free accommodation in the university dormitory throughout their training course.
For non-teacher education majors: exemption from tuition fees for the first semester and continued tuition fee exemptions for subsequent semesters if they achieve a GPA of at least “Good” and maintain “Excellent” conduct.
For teacher education majors: a first-semester scholarship equivalent to the tuition fee of Group VII according to the university's fee structure. Additionally, the university will provide an additional monthly support of 1 million VND for subsequent semesters if students achieve a GPA of at least “Good” and maintain “Excellent” conduct.
Students of ethnic minorities such as Si La, O Du, Brau, Ro Mam, Pu Peo, Cong, Mang, Bo Y, Lo Lo, Co Lao, Ngai, Lu, Pa Then, Chut, La Ha, and La Hu will receive an additional monthly support of 1 million VND as per the government regulations.
Dr. Ho Van Thong, Rector of Dong Thap University, stated: "Implementing priority and preferential policies for ethnic minority students upon admission in 2024 demonstrates the university's commitment to enhancing highly skilled human resources for remote, mountainous, and economically challenged regions.” Dr. Ho Van Thong emphasized: “These policies aim to provide more opportunities for ethnic minority students to enroll, study, and improve their academic qualifications."
In previous admissions, Dong Thap University admitted ethnic minority students (100 students up to now) who have benefited from existing policies, including tuition waivers, reductions, and living allowances as per government regulations. In the 2024 admissions, in addition to current preferential policies, these students will receive enhanced benefits from the university.
The 2024 admissions at Dong Thap University will accept applications starting from April 1, 2024, under four independent admission methods: based on the results of the 2024 high school graduation exam; based on high school academic records (transcript), with applications accepted from April 1, 2024; based on the average grade of the final year of high school or the average grade of three subjects in the selected combination corresponding to the registered major; direct admission, prioritized admission; and based on the results of the 2024 competency assessment exam of Ho Chi Minh City National University.
