On April 16th, the Le Vu Hung Learning Resource Center at Dong Thap University hosted the Specialized Report and 4th Reader Conference 2024, attracting the participation of over 200 university students.
The program was attended by Assoc. Prof. Dr. Pham Minh Gian, Former Vice Rector of Dong Thap University; MSc. Nguyen Van Nghiem, Deputy Head of Student Affairs and Communication, and Head Judge of the "My Most Impressive Book" Competition; MSc. Le Phuoc Vinh, Secretary of the Youth Union; and MSc. Tran Thi Kim Trang, Director of the Le Vu Hung Learning Resource Center.
Assoc. Prof. Dr. Pham Minh Gian opened the event with a specialized report titled "Happy School – Happy Library." His presentation focused on the concept of a happy school, where love and respect among teachers, students, and staff are nurtured daily. The discussion emphasized the importance of an educational environment that not only imparts knowledge and skills but also supports and maximizes students' potential and passion for learning.
The event also included reports on the activities of the Le Vu Hung Learning Resource Center, discussions with the center’s management, faculty, and student readers. Additionally, the program featured:
- Thank-you gifts for the judges of the "My Most Impressive Book" competition.
- Awards for individuals and units that have supported the Le Vu Hung Learning Resource Center in its professional activities and in celebrating Book and Reading Culture Day 2024.
- Prizes for the "My Most Impressive Book" competition.
- Recognitions for students who frequently used the center for studying and research in 2023.
The event aimed to raise awareness about the importance of reading culture, ignite a passion for reading, and cultivate lifelong learning habits among students and the community. It also highlighted the role and responsibility of educational institutions in building and promoting a reading culture, contributing to the development of a learning society.
