On April 3rd, 2024, Dong Thap University signed a memorandum of cooperation with the Department of Agriculture and Rural Development of Dong Thap Province.
Attending the program from the Department of Agriculture and Rural Development were Mr. Nguyen Van Vu Minh, Director of the Department; Mr. Le Duy Lam, Chief of the Office; Mr. Le Hoang Anh, Head of the Financial Planning Department; Ms. Le Thi Ha, Deputy Director of the High-Tech Agriculture Application Center, and representatives managing related agencies under the Department of Agriculture and Rural Development of Dong Thap Province. From Dong Thap University, there were TS. Ho Van Thong, President of the University; TS. Nguyen Quoc Vu, Vice President of the University; TS. Phan Trong Nam, Head of the Science and Technology Department, and administrative staff of relevant specialized units, as well as researchers and lecturers.
During the working program and the official signing of the cooperation plan, both parties agreed on specific collaborative contents regarding research, application of science and technology in agriculture and rural development; cooperation in transferring advanced techniques and research results of science and technology; collaboration in consulting and exchanging information on science and technology; and collaboration in training and capacity building in science and technology.
The collaborative program between the two entities aims to build connectivity, share resources effectively, and maximize existing resources and conditions to serve the socio-economic development in the fields of agriculture and rural development in Dong Thap Province. Moreover, it aims to effectively support the implementation of cooperative activities in science, technology, and training.
In the field of science and technology (S&T), Dong Thap University has implemented 747 S&T topics for lecturers, including 10 topics funded by the Nafosted Fund, 84 topics at the Ministry level, 8 provincial-level topics, and 654 institutional-level topics. Additionally, lecturers have supervised over 600 S&T topics at the university level for students. In agriculture, lecturers and students have conducted 160 topics at various levels, including 98 topics by lecturers and 62 topics by students. Among these, lecturers have achieved awards such as Second Prize in the Ministry-level S&T Awards for young lecturers, First Prize, Second Prize, Third Prize, and four Encouragement Prizes at the Dong Thap Province Scientific and Technological Innovation Contest. They have also been granted one Exclusive Solution Patent by the National Office of Intellectual Property, Ministry of Science and Technology.
