DONG THAP UNIVERSITY SKYROCKETS 34 PLACES IN 2024 VIETNAM UNIVERSITY RANKINGS

The Vietnam University Rankings (VNUR) have just announced the Top 100 Vietnamese universities. In the national rankings, Dong Thap University has been ranked 38th, securing the 2nd position among the 8 universities in the Mekong Delta region for this year.

The Vietnam University Rankings 2024 is a comprehensive review of all 237 Vietnamese higher education institutions. This evaluation entails processing big data, including three public reports, admission projects, and data from other ranking sources such as QS, THE, ARWU, accreditation by MOET, QS Stars, and UPM ratings. Additionally, data from Web of Science (WOS) and SCOPUS over a 5-year period (2019-2023), scientific and technological activities and inventions from the Ministry of Science and Technology, prestigious scientific journals from the State Council of Professors, and copyrighted electronic document databases are considered along with selectively referenced information from other credible sources. From this extensive dataset, 193 institutions with complete data are selected for ranking. The ranking process utilizes a set of 6 standards and 18 criteria chosen to comprehensively reflect the fundamental missions of higher education, including training, scientific research, and community service

Among the 6 nationally ranked standards, Dong Thap University has achieved high rankings in 2 areas: facilities (Photo 2), ranked 11th, and recognized quality (Photo 3), ranked 19th. It holds the first position in the Mekong Delta.

For learner quality standards, Dong Thap University ranked 31st nationwide and 2ndin the Mekong Delta. (Photo 4). 
In addition, there are 2 standards related to the field of science and technology activities: the standard for scientific article publications, which ranked 61st nationwide (Photo 5), and the standard for tenure in Science, Technology, and Patents, which ranked 44th nationwide (Photo 6). Dong Thap University secured the 2nd and 3rd positions, respectively, among universities in the Mekong Delta for these two standards.
Despite the high rankings achieved by other standards in both the region and nationwide, Dong Thap University's teaching standards are comparatively low, ranked 93rd nationwide and 5th in the Mekong Delta (Photo 7). This standard accounts for 25% of the evaluation score and includes 2 criteria: the student-to-lecturer ratio and the proportion of lecturers holding doctoral degrees out of the total number of lecturers.

However, with a ranking of 38 nationwide and ranked 2nd in the Mekong Delta, Dong Thap University has increased 34 places compared to the 2023 ranking (2023 ranked 72nd nationwide) and continues to maintain its 2nd position. in the region. Achieving these results is due to the attention and direction of implementing the tasks of the leadership team, along with the determination and consensus of all officials, employees and learners in implementing all including training, scientific research and community service activities, contributing to improving the quality of education and training of the institution.

However, with a nationwide ranking of 38 and holding the 2nd position in the Mekong Delta, Dong Thap University has surged 34 places compared to its 2023 ranking (at 72nd position nationwide), and continues to uphold its 2nd position in the region. These remarkable advancements are attributed to the focused efforts and guidance of the university's leadership team, coupled with the determination and unity of all staff, faculty, and students in fulfilling various tasks, including education, scientific research, and community service. These collective endeavors have significantly contributed to enhancing the institution's educational quality and standards.
