On the morning of January 19, Dong Thap University organized a Conference program to deploy science and technology tasks in 2024 and the following years, to advise, support and orient the University's officials in Proposing science and technology tasks at ministerial level in 2024 and the following years with effectiveness and high-quality.
Attending the Conference program were Mr. Tran Nam Tu - Deputy Director, Department of Science, Technology and Environment, and experts from the Department of Science, Technology and Environment, Department of Planning and Finance, Ministry of Education and Training. On the side of Dong Thap University, there were Mr. Ho Van Thong, Rector of the University, along with managers of units, scientists, officials, and lecturers of the University interested in attending the program.
During the Conference, Dong Thap University reported the results of Dong Thap University's science and technology activities in 2023. At the same time, the Conference also exchanged and discussed related issues and received advice, support and direction from the Working Group for the University's officials in proposing high-level science and technology tasks. In 2025 and the following years, the Ministry will discuss issues related to the implementation and organization of science and technology activities.
In recent years, science and technology activities of Dong Thap University lecturers have achieved many outstanding achievements such as, period 2003 - 2023: 01 Second prize, 06 Third prizes and 03 Consolation prizes of Ministry-level Science and Technology Awards for young lecturers; 09 articles were awarded the National Key Mathematics Project Award for the period 2010-2020; 01 First prize, 01 Second prize, 01 Third prize and 04 Consolation prizes of the Dong Thap Province Competition Award; 01 Utility Solution Patent from the Department of Intellectual Property, Ministry of Science and Technology; 01 Copyright Certificate from the Copyright Department, Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism; Won 01 Second Prize and 01 Third Prize at the 17th Dong Thap Province Technical Innovation Contest; 01 topic was honored in the Vietnam Creative Golden Book 2023.
In particular, in the second round of Webometrics world university rankings in 2023, Dong Thap University increased 661 places compared to the rankings for the same period in 2022 and ranked 38th among 186 Vietnamese universities.
