DONG THAP UNIVERSITY'S 18TH COUNCIL MEETING FOR THE TERM 2020 – 2025

On the afternoon of December 4, 2023, Dong Thap University's Council held its 18th regular meeting, marking the fourth session in the year 2023.

Chaired by Mr. Truong Tan Dat, Secretary of the Party Committee and Chairman of the Council, the meeting was attended by Mr. Ho Van Thong, the University's Rector, along with members from within and outside the university.

During the session, Council members engaged in discussions, exchanged ideas, and provided input on the following key topics: (1) Report on the 2023 activities and the plan for implementing tasks and programs in 2024 by the University Council; (2) Comprehensive review and evaluation of the key task outcomes in 2023 and the directions and key tasks for 2024 for Dong Thap University. The Council rigorously reviewed and assessed the achieved results, analyzed plans, directions, and key tasks for 2024. Notably, emphasis was placed on researching and issuing regulations on intellectual property ownership and policies for Ph.D. holders, associate professors, and professors.

Simultaneously, the Council deliberated on, provided opinions, and made resolutions on matters within its jurisdiction, including proposing quality rating levels for the Chairman of the Council and the Rector; evaluating and rating the quality of the Vice Rectors in 2023; approving the opening of new majors and specializations for undergraduate programs; endorsing the construction of a restructuring plan for educational units in the 2024 - 2025 period and supporting the investment in the renovation and repair projects during the academic year 2023 - 2024.

Additionally, the Council discussed the results of monitoring scientific and technological activities at Dong Thap University for the academic year 2022 - 2023 and proposed the implementation of the process to complete the membership of the University Council for the term 2020 - 2025.

Concluding the meeting, Mr. Truong Tan Dat, Secretary of the Party Committee and Chairman of the Council, expressed gratitude to all members, especially external participants, for their significant contributions to the Council's activities in 2023. He commended the members for their responsible role in monitoring the implementation of the resolutions and urged them to continue their active participation for the Council's increasingly effective operations.
