On October 21, Dong Thap University conducted an evaluation of a doctoral dissertation at the faculty level by student Nguyen Minh Sang, who is majoring in education management with the topic Managing students’ learning activities in engineering and technology areas in the direction of learning outcomes approach at universities in the Mekong Delta region. This is the first doctoral student in the education management major of Dong Thap University, expected to defend his university-level dissertation at the end of 2024.
In 2019, the university opened Course 1 doctoral training major in education management with 03 graduate students. So far, Dong Thap University has had 04 doctoral training courses in education management with 23 students, who have been studying and researching at the university. Dong Thap University is also the only higher education institution offering a doctorate course in educational management in the Mekong Delta region.

With a journey of more than 20 years of integration and development, Dong Thap University has achieved many impressive accomplishments. In just 20 years, the school's teaching staff has developed impressively in all areas of quantity, quality, and structure. It is known that at the beginning, Dong Thap University only had five undergraduate majors. Up to now, the university currently has one doctoral training major (education management); 10 Master's training majors, and more than 40 undergraduate training majors. It is expected that the university is about to open two new doctoral training majors, which are theoretical chemistry and physical chemistry, and theory and mathematics teaching methodologies in 2024.

Dr. Ho Van Thong, Rector of Dong Thap University, said: "We are making efforts to continue to improve training quality and orient the training program to suit the diverse needs of learners. At the same time, ensuring effective implementation of graduate students' research must be linked to practice, ensuring scientificity and applicability to professional work. According to the current training roadmap, it is expected that in 2024, the university will establish a Professors' Council at the school level, aiming to improve the training roadmap to ensure scientific quality and provide high-quality human resources in educational activities, in particular, and in society, in general. With the accomplishments achieved in the past year, Dong Thap University has shown its great efforts and pride in providing a high-quality training environment for learners and the community."
