SGD&ĐĐT - Implementing the general education program and the goal of applying interdisciplinary knowledge to solve practical problems, on the afternoon of October 18, 2023, Cao Lanh 1 High School coordinated with the Faculty of Mathematics and Informatic Teachers Education - Dong Thap University and Cao Lanh 2 High School and Thong Linh High School organized a STEM Mathematics festival with the theme "Mathematics and life".

Attending the STEM festival was Dr. Nguyen Trung Hieu, Deputy Head of the Faculty of Mathematics and Informatic Teachers Education, Master Nguyen Thuy Hoang Yen, lecturers and students of the Faculty of Mathematics and Informatic Teachers Education of Dong Thap University, along with leaders and teachers of the Mathematics and Information Technology team. In the excited and enthusiastic atmosphere of the students when they first attended the science festival about applying Mathematics to life, they heard Dr. Nguyen Trung Hieu and the teachers suggested issues of practical application of Mathematics in life, stimulating students' creative thinking in applying this important scientific subject to solving problems, real-life issues, especially in the context that the world's science and technology is obtaining great achievements and STEM education has become an inevitable global trend.

After being led by teachers into STEM Mathematics applications, students from 3 schools displayed applied products and took turns presenting the practical applicability of the products and the process of creating the products, explains the application of knowledge of lessons to create products. The students' convincing presentation on creative mathematical thinking completely satisfied the jury. Next was the quiz competition on applying Mathematics to life, students from 3 schools actively volunteered to answer interesting questions from the jury with attractive gifts.

Finally, there is a practice session, a sample lesson for 3 groups of hands-on activities to create STEM products (divide students from each school into 1 group), under the guidance of lecturers and students of Dong Thap University.

Through STEM exchanges, it has created conditions for teachers and students to raise awareness of the role of STEM in the general education program, practice thinking skills and apply theoretical knowledge of Mathematics to solve problems. Solve practical problems, help students love Math more. This is also an opportunity for teachers and students to share knowledge and experiences in STEM research.
