On August 25, Dong Thap University met with a group of internship students under the 9th Pre-Service Student Teacher Exchange in Southeast Asia (SEA-Teacher) in 2023.
 

Attending the meeting were Mr. Cao Dao Thep, Vice Rector; representative of the International Affairs Office; Faculty of Mathematics and Information Education; Faculty of Social Sciences Education, parents of 10 students majoring in Mathematics and History; Lecturers, department heads, coordinators and student volunteers who participate in supporting the activities of the SEA-Teacher program.

At the meeting, Ms. Nguyen Anh Thu, Head of the International Affairs Office, on behalf of the unit in charge of implementing the SEA-Teacher program, reported the entire process of preparing students for internships abroad from the stage of recruiting trainees, English language training, training in teaching methods, support in preparing documents and procedures, and orientation training for students on the necessary knowledge, experience and skills when interning abroad...

On behalf of Dong Thap University, Mr. Cao Dao Thep would like to thank parents for closely coordinating with the university to prepare the best conditions for students to participate in internships abroad under the SEA-Teacher Program. Special praise was given to 10 students who worked hard to be selected to participate in internships abroad.

Mr. Cao Dao Thep reminded the students that this trip is not just for practice and professional development; accumulate knowledge and experience in a multicultural environment but also bring the image of the country, people and culture of Vietnam in general, and Dong Thap University in particular to international friends. Students need to prepare carefully before leaving and actively make more efforts to successfully complete the tasks of the internship abroad.

Representing the group of students doing internships abroad, student Tieu Anh Tuan (Faculty of Mathematics and Information Education) expressed: "Thanks all teachers, for creating conditions for us to have the opportunity to intern abroad to study, improve teaching methods, improve English communication skills, and accumulate experience for future careers. With the knowledge and skills enthusiastically guided and trained by lecturers, we confidently commit that we will successfully complete the internship tasks, contributing to promoting the brand of Dong Thap University to international friends. . After returning, we will share and pass on the aspiration to the next batch of students so that more and more students of Dong Thap University can participate in the SEA-Teacher program."

The SEA-Teacher program belongs to the field of "Teacher training innovation", one of the priority areas to achieve quality education in the region by the Southeast Asian Ministers of Education Organization (SEAMEO), starting in 2016, with the participation of 2,318 pedagogical students from 136 pedagogical colleges and universities in Indonesia, Malaysia, Philippines, Thailand, Vietnam and Japan.

The goal of the SEA-Teacher Program is to create opportunities for pedagogical students from universities in Southeast Asia to have practical teaching experience in different countries in the region; encourage students to practice English; help pedagogical students expand their vision of the region and the world; helps future teachers have the opportunity to approach pedagogical situations and have opportunities to teach and learn in a multicultural environment.
