On the morning of June 23, VNU-Hanoi Education Accreditation Center (VNU-Hanoi CEA), in collaboration with Dong Thap University, organized the Opening Ceremony of the Official Site Visit to assess the quality of 07 training programs, including Informatics Teacher Education, Biology Teacher Education, Music Teacher Education, Fine Arts Teacher Education, Accounting and Agronomy (graduate), and Preschool Education (undergraduate), adhering to the Training Program Quality Assessment Standards promulgated by Vietnam’s Ministry of Education and Training.

During the days of the Official Site Visit on June 23-27, the EAT scrutinized the evidence and worked directly with the focal staff in charge of the fields of the training programs; conducted interviews with a group of managers, lecturers, alumni, employers, students, and staff directly supporting the training programs; visited and assessed libraries, classrooms, halls, faculty offices, laboratories, computer labs, yards, dormitories, medical station, and other facilities.

In recent years, Dong Thap University has seriously conducted various self-assessment activities to prepare for the external assessment and to promptly adjust and improve the quality of training activities, scientific research, technology transfer, staff development, business relationship enhancement, and community service. Based on the prepared reports and evidence, and the results of the Preliminary Online Site Visit of the EAT from VNU-Hanoi CEA on June 21, the Official Site Visit was officially launched.

Dr. Ho Van Thong, Dong Thap University Rector, shared: Although the university has had unique concerns and investments to ensure its training quality, there have still been shortcomings in the process of administration and implementation. With an open-minded spirit, Dong Thap University is willing to receive straight feedback from the EAT accreditors to help the faculties in charge of managing the training programs and the university continue to improve and enhance the quality of training programs in the coming time. 
The Closing Ceremony of the Official Site Visit will be held on June 27, 2023, with the preliminary reports on assessing the quality of 07 training programs and notes from working sessions presented by the EAT. 
In 2017, Dong Thap University completed the education accreditation process and was granted the Certificate of Educational Institution. In 2022, the university completed the education accreditation process on time and was awarded the Certificate of Educational Institution - Cycle 2.  In 2023, Dong Thap University was rated a 4-Star teaching-intensive institution, and the Faculty of Mathematics-Informatics Teacher Education at Dong Thap University was certified 5-Star teaching-intensive program by the University Performance Metrics Innovation Institute. 
Since 2019, Dong Thap University has had 16 training programs awarded Certificates of Accreditation. With 07 training programs this year accredited, the total will be 23/42, up to 54.76% of the training programs accredited. This rate is relatively high compared to other universities. 
In the coming time, the University will conduct accreditation for the remaining programs, especially those of teacher education training programs, pursuant to the roadmap of the Project on Improving the Quality of Higher Education for the period 2019-2025 approved by the Prime Minister under Decision No. 69 dated January 15, 2019. Currently, the university is implementing reports of self-assessment activities for 04 postgraduate training programs adhering to FIBAA standards, and 04 undergraduate training programs adhering to AUN-QA standards.
