On June 16th and 17th, Dong Thap University held two consecutive graduation ceremonies in its cooperative training institutions of Can Tho University of Technology and Ben Tre College to grant university degrees to those local in-service students who successfully completed their training programs.

Present at the ceremony were representative of Dong Thap University’s Board of Rectors, representatives of faculties, departments and also students’ family members, friends. The graduation ceremonies concluded the students’ long road of tireless study and practice period, asserting the students’ maturity and they paved the pathway to their roads of personal improvement and career stabilization.

In the process of implementing its training programs, Dong Thap University has actively innovated its activities under the principle of students’ practical needs, their potentialities, knowledge and competence by attaching importance to innovation of teaching and learning methods which focused on teaching students learning methods, enhancing students’ proactiveness, increasing the actual application of IT in organizing its teaching-learning activities.

The University has a flexible operation of training mechamism by reducing in-class learing time allocation for theories but increasing time allocation for self-studies. At the same time, the work of training management has been innovated by allowing the faculties to actively select appropriate teaching forms provided that nothing would infrindge the training regulations promulgated by the Ministry of Education and Training. Furthermore, University’s faculities in close cooperation with functional departments and offices, cooperative training institutions,… assigned classes to lecturers, and organizing teaching-learning activities in accordance with the given plans and expected progress.

Taking courses offered by Dong Thap University, these students have accumulated knowledge and professional competence in parallel with the training level, which could meet the local needs of educational and socio-cultural develppment. In addition, students achieved enough competence, skills for self-study, research as necessary preparations for lifelong learning activities, continuously improving the attained level and getting ready for meeting emerging professional requirements.
