The event was attended by Comrade Truong Tan Dat, Party Secretary, Chairman of the Council of Dong Thap University; Comrade Nguyen Huu Duyet, Party Committee Member, Head of Communist Party and Unions Affairs Office; Comrade Le Phuoc Vinh, Youth Union Secretary, Head of the organizing committee of the Summer Student Volunteer Campaign 2023 at Dong Thap University. From the Provincial Youth Union, Comrade Le Hoang Quyet, Deputy Party Secretary of the Provincial Youth Union and Commander of the Green Summer Volunteer Campaign in Dong Thap province, was present. Alongside the participants, there were Mr. Nguyen Tan Tao, Deputy Director of the Joint Stock Commercial Bank for Foreign Trade of Vietnam - Dong Thap Branch, Comrade Pham Huu Linh Khoa, Secretary of the Youth Union of Dong Thap Power Company, and over 100 students.

The "Summer Student Volunteer Campaign" is one of the activities that attracts significant attention and widespread participation from students at Dong Thap University. With the desire to contribute to environmental protection and care, as well as instill a sense of social responsibility in students during their summer break, the University Administration has shown its support for this campaign by attending and organizing the launching ceremony. In the program, Comrade Truong Tan Dat expressed gratitude and encouragement to all students and congratulated the upcoming campaign on its success.

In response to the deep encouragement and attention from the Party Committee and the Provincial Youth Union, Nguyen Minh Toan, class of DHGDTH21, representing the students, pledged to wholeheartedly complete the program's tasks, strictly adhere to the program's regulations, and make every effort to disseminate positive values to the community, following the motto "Live with respect, care for others, and gain the people's trust."

The contents of the 2023 "Summer Student Volunteer Campaign" consist of 10 prominent projects, including presenting 03 "5,000 VND Houses" to disadvantaged Youth Union members, introducing at least 40 outstanding members to participate in the Party's consideration and admission, developing teaching models and continuing the "English Funny" model at Dong Thap Provincial Library, creating 12 green gardens, organizing activities to support "Digital Transformation," disseminating information on drug prevention, HIV/AIDS, school violence, and child exploitation, visiting and offering support to Heroic Vietnamese Mothers, policy beneficiary families, and disadvantaged individuals, providing advice and support for high school students to start their own businesses, advising on safe enrollment and digitization at 2 historical sites and tourist destinations in Dong Thap province.

 

Additionally, the participants were informed of several regulations to ensure that all students and young people participating in the program carry out their assigned tasks with a spirit of learning, experiencing, contributing, and maturing.

After the launching ceremony of the "Summer Student Volunteer Campaign," volunteer teams from the Faculty of Natural Sciences Teacher Education and Tuan Thuan Tay Commune Youth Union, Cao Lanh City, continued to demonstrate their volunteering spirit by visiting and cleaning the historical site of Ngoc Quang Dieu Temple.

Through this activity, the students not only contributed to honoring and preserving the long-standing cultural heritage of the local area but also showcased their responsibility and love for their homeland. This volunteering journey also provided young people with an opportunity to learn, experience, and develop their talents and personalities.
