DONG THAP UNIVERSITY STUDENTS CELEBRATE WORLD ENVIRONMENT DAY - 5/6/2023.

On June 5th, Department of Geography - Faculty of Social Science Teacher Education - Dong Thap University organized an event so as for the faculty’s students to respond to the annual World Environment Day, whose action focus in 2023 is "Solutions to Plastic Pollution.”
The scene of the event
The event attracted Mr. Le Phuoc Vinh - Secretary of the University Youth Union; Dr. Hoang Thi Viet Ha – inviting lecturer to the Faculty; MA. Phan Van Tuan – Youth Union Secretary of the Faculty of Agriculture & Environmental Resources, who all participated in the event as invited guests. For the representatives of Faculty of Social Sciences Teacher Education to the event, there were Dr. Le Van Tung, Dean of the Faculty; Dr. Phung Thai Duong - Deputy Dean; MA. Nguyen Thi Thanh Van - Head of the Organizing Committee; Dr. Ton Son – a lecturer of Geography department; Mr. Nguyen Phuoc Tien – Youth Union Secretary of Social Sciences Teacher Education Faculty. The event also drew the participation of Mr. Phan Van Minh Truong - former student of geography teacher education; members of the Environment Club - Faculty of Science and Technology, members of Communication – Event Club and all students of geography teacher education.
Students participating in the experiential activities
This is an annual event organized by Faculty of Social Sciences Teacher Education, aiming to launch a wide-spread propagation and dissemination of contents and meanings of World Environment Day, with 2023 action focus being “Solutions to Plastic Pollution”, to the whole students. The appeal calls on the whole people to appropriately use natural resources, apply biodiversity and take adaptation to climate change; take control of plastic pollution and have concrete solutions to such pollution, increase recycling activities… towards pursuing a greener and sustainable lifestyle in harmony with nature.

As particularly designated for the event, three experiential activities “Tâm đầu ý hợp” (Eye-to-Eye visions”, “Smart creativity” and “Planting commemorative trees and cleaning the Faculty's campus” were organized for the students, contributing to strengthening their soft skills and experiential activities, especially their ability to launch education and propagation campaigns on environmental protection to the public.
