On May 8th morning, the opening ceremony for AFC Futsal level 1 Certificate Coaching course was held by Dong Thap University (DThU) and Vietnam Football Federation (VFF) in their coordination with the Asian Football Confederation (AFC). The course is scheduled to take place from May 8th  to  May 13th, 2023 in Dong Thap University..

Present at the opening ceremony were  Mr. Luu Quang Dien Bien, Manager of Community Football and Training Office, a VFF’s representative; Mr. Ngo Le Bang, AFC Futsal Coach Trainer, Mr. Pham Minh Giang and Mr. Truong Quoc Tuan, Bang’s assistants; Mr. Vuong Thanh Trung, General Secretary of Dong Thap’s Football Federation (DFF), a DFF’s representative. In addition to these participants, Dr. Tran Anh Hao, Dean of the Faculty of Physical Education – Defense and Security, who represented DThU and 20 course trainees attended the ceremony.

The AFC  Futsal Level 1 Certificate Coaching course - 2023 will provide the trainees with useful knowledge via vital contents specified and demonstrated in theory and practice forms, which include basic Futsal tactical formations, age-based training criteria, required Futsal’s principles and skills, Basic tactical movement strategies, how to pass and receive balls, how to dribble balls past the opponents, tactics and skills for goalkeepers.... In addition, the trainees will have a class section about Futsal Laws of a 90-minute game, instructed by VFF's referees.

The course is planned to take place within 6 days (from May 8 to 13, 2023) in accordance with AFC Regulations. The course is opened in response to the growing demands and proposals by cities and provinces, Futsal clubs, sports centers nationwide... where Futsal movement has already developed and there are strong needs for Futsal coaches to be trained in a professional fashion and in accordance with AFC’s standards.
