HUNDREDS OF YOUNGSTERS JOIN “RED SUNDAY” EVENT – VOLUNTARY BLOOD DRIVE 2023 AT DONG THAP UNIVERSITY

On the morning of February 19, Dong Thap University cooperated with Tien Phong Newspaper to organize the 15th "Red Sunday" Event- Voluntary Blood Drive 2023 at Dong Thap University with the contribution of over 400 blood pints from Youth Union members, and the university’s employees.

Attending the ceremony were Mr. Nguyen Huu Thoi - Standing Deputy Head of Provincial Blood Donation Committee, Chairman of Dong Thap Red Cross Association; Mr. Doan Nguyen Dang Khoa - Deputy Head of Dong Thap Provincial Youth Union Movement Committee. Representatives for the organizers were Mr. Cao Dao Thep - Vice Rector of the University, Chairman of the Red Cross Association of Dong Thap University; Dr. Nguyen Quoc Vu – Vice Rector of Dong Thap University; Mr. Tran Van Phuc - Chairman of the Labor Union of the University, along with hundreds of students and Youth Union members who participated in blood drive.

Tien Phong Newspaper presents a medal to Dong Thap University for the cooperation in blood donation activities

"Red Sunday" with the spirit of “Donating blood to save lives - Your lives and mine” has been appreciated by leaders of the Party and State from central to local levels. The event has been held in more than 40 provinces and cities; many organizations,  and schools have held the event with 46,999 blood pints donated. The program is appreciated and directed by the leaders of ministries and localities, and the great participation from the Youth Union members, and students.

The event has been organized by Tien Phong Newspaper since 2009 with the noble purpose of bringing warm blood to the poor and patients who need blood for treatment during the annual Lunar New Year. In addition, the program also carries messages and propagates widely in all walks of life about the blood donation movement.
