In the series of activities of the Student Exchange Program between Dong Thap University and Samar State University, Philippines, and the SEA-Teacher Student Exchange, Batch 9-2023, last night, April 26, 2023, at Lecture Theatre 1, there was a "Cultural Exchange Night" between students of Dong Thap University and students from Laos, Thailand, and the Philippines. Attending the program were Mr. Cao Dao Thep, Vice-Rector of Dong Thap University; Ms. Nguyen Anh Thu, Head of the International Affairs Office; lecturers and students of the University’s faculties.
The purpose of the program is to create a wholesome playground for students to exchange cultures, enhance understanding and friendship between students of universities in Southeast Asian countries, and give Dong Thap University’s students a good opportunity to improve their English competence to communicate with international friends.
The program included the National Traditional Costumes Show, Music and Dance Show, and Quizzes about the country, people, and customs of Laos, Philippines, Thailand, and Vietnam, designed and performed by groups of students of Samar State University (Philippines), Nakhon Sawan Rajabhat University (Thailand), Champasak University (Laos), and Dong Thap University students.
On this occasion, Mr. Cao Dao Thep, on behalf of the University's Rectoral Board, awarded the Certificate of Participation in the Student Exchange Program 2023 to 10 students of Samar State University. He said: “Despite the shortage of time, you all quickly overcame the initial strange feelings in a new environment, adapted yourselves to get along well with the academic lifestyle at Dong Thap University, and tried your best to fulfill your practicum duties successfully as expected. All of these have given me reasons to feel pleased and proud of you - students of Samar State University!"
The "Cultural Exchange Night" was really successful and left a good impression on all guests and students! Sharing feelings at the end of the program, many students of Dong Thap University expressed their thanks to the Organizing Board for "giving them a good opportunity to experience and enjoy such an amazing atmosphere of the event". Especially, Laotian, Filipino, and Thai students got together and chanted in Vietnamese: "Dong Thap University – Excellent!"
